Young Entrepreneur Generating a Multiple 6-figure Turnover in Second Year of Trading

Impressive Success For Maldon-Based Company

George Hosegood, Founder and Owner of Maldon-based Turvec Solutions, is now comfortably achieving a multiple six figure turnover and is well on its way to a million pound turnover in the next two to three years following support from the Essex Innovation Programme.

Turvec Solutions designs and installs bicycle parking facilities for national house-builders, PLC’s, property developers, Universities and Schools and was founded when George had completed his university degree.

Supporting New and Established Businesses

Following on from initial mentoring support via the Essex Innovation Programme, George applied for additional support via the Big Business Boost Competition, providing innovative Essex-based applicants the opportunity to win business support and up to £2,000 to put towards boosting their business ideas. With over 200 applicants, covering all different sectors and categories, George found himself shortlisted as a finalist for the Young Entrepreneurship Award with his innovative space saving cycle racks.

“It was an enjoyable and informative experience at the two day workshop, and a great networking event at the awards.”

As an early stage business, the success of Turvec relied on holistic business support, covering a wide range of areas to ensure that the business, brand and products were market ready. The support provided to this young entrepreneur allowed the opportunity to meet with other like-minded businesses and to network, to share ideas and experiences.

As a result of the support and success of Turvec, George anticipates a new direction to expand across fresh markets as well as expanding his employees to manage the forecasted growth.

New and Exciting Opportunity for Young Entrepreneurs

To continue its support to young entrepreneurs, Essex County Council will be launching its latest business support scheme, available to 16-30 year olds who live in Essex (excluding Southend and Thurrock), who have an innovative business or idea, for the chance to access up to £5,000 of funding.

The Essex Young Entrepreneurs Network is a new programme of support that breaks down the barriers and common difficulties of accessing support and funding for young adults through simply inviting applicants to apply by sending a video clip of no more than 3 minutes, introducing themselves, their business idea and their support needs.
