StartUp Britain bus comes to Chelmsford

StartUp Britain tourThis week the national enterprise campaign StartUp Britain is visiting Chelmsford as part of a flagship annual summer tour. The StartUp Britain tour, now in its fifth year and partnering with NatWest, is sponsored by 123 Reg, the UK’s largest domain name provider. Over a six week period the StartUp Britain tour bus will visit over 30 towns and cities to engage with over 10,000 people.

The StartUp Britain campaign is to celebrate entrepreneurial communities across Britain and inspire individuals to turn their business ideas into action. So far this year the number of start-ups launched in the UK is 316, 806. Entrepreneurs or companies looking to expand are invited to visit the StartUp Britain bus to meet ‘on-board experts’. This year Essex County Council’s Essex Innovation Programme will be on board to discuss free mentoring and advice for aspiring and early-stage entrepreneurs.

“Interest in entrepreneurship is higher than ever and the only thing holding many people back from trying out a business idea is some encouragement and support.

By connecting aspiring entrepreneurs with those a few steps ahead of them, as well as supportive local organisations, we want to give people the confidence to turn their ideas into reality”.

Matt Smith, Director, StartUp Britain & Centre for Entrepreneurs
